Der Bürgermeister von Tripolis hat die zündende Idee, wie er den Krieg in Libyen beenden kann; nein, nein, er will nicht etwa abtreten, er will - eingespielter Applaus - demokratisch Wählen lassen. Hat sein Sohn vor Monatsfrist auch schon mal vorgeschlagen. Immerhin unterstützt jetzt eine Leuchte des Sozialismus des 21. Jahrhunderts, Daniel Ortega, der nikaraguanische Präsident, diesen großen - eingespielter Applaus - Vorschlag. Ortega hat auch schon bei der UN-Vertretung Libyens ausgeholfen, als Gadaffi die Diplomaten weggelaufen waren. Das ist noch Solidarität!

President Ortega, a personal friend of Colonel Qaddafi, said the leftist Latin American bloc ALBA supported the move to allow Libyans to “exercise their right to vote… and create the conditions needed to end the war.” (al-arabyia)

Saif al Islam, des Bürgermeisters Sohn, will sich mit Wahlen dagegen mittlerweile nicht mehr aufhalten. Saif ist in einer Trotzphase. Saif trägt jetzt Bart, spielt mit einer Gebetskette herum und erzählt der New York Times, man habe beschlossen, sich mit den Islamisten zu verbünden, um dann gemeinsam die “liberalen” Aufständischen loszuwerden.

Libya will look like Saudi Arabia, like Iran. So what?

Es handelt sich, wie gesagt, um eine Trotzphase. Saif ist nämlich beleidigt, jetzt darf er nicht mehr im Frack auf dem Wiener Opernball Champagner schlürfen, jetzt muß er mit Bartmaskerade den hartgesottenen Zyniker geben:

“Everybody is taking off the mask, and now you have to face the reality,” he said. “I know they are terrorists. They are bloody. They are not nice. But you have to accept them.” He seemed to enjoy repeating the notion that Western capitals would be forced to welcome the ambassadors or defense minister of a new Islamist Libya.

Mag sein, daß sie das alles bei Gaddafis daheim im Bunkerzelt für geniale Propagandacoups halten. Aber seien wir ehrlich, das ist alles nur noch total bescheuert.

Wer hat den längsten? Momentan Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, der Emir von Dubai. Der Burj Khalifa (828 Meter) ist das höchste Gebäude der Welt. Das lässt den Saudis keine Ruhe: „Prinz Walid Bin Talal hat am Dienstag verkündet, dass ein millionenschwerer Vertrag zum Bau des Kingdom Tower unterzeichnet worden sei. Mehr als tausend Meter werde der Turm messen.“ Fast könnte man glauben, das Königshaus habe Sinn für Humor. Den Vertrag hat „die Kingdom Holding mit der Bin Laden Group, der größten Baufirma des Landes, geschlossen“.

Eine grandiose Idee: einfach den Strom abschalten:

Rachid Ghanouschi, Führer der islamistischen tunesischen En Nadha Partei, erzählt zwar gerne, was für ein Musterdemokrat er ist, hin und wieder spricht er er aber dankenswerter Weise Klartext. Auf lange Sicht wünscht auch er sich nicht anderes als das Khalifat:

Le leader du parti Ennahdha a évoqué durant l’interview les révolutions arabes, et notamment la révolution tunisienne et égyptienne, et a abordé le sujet des mouvements islamistes.
A ce propos, M. Ghannouchi a indiqué que l’objectif ultime de tous les mouvements islamistes est l’instauration du califat. Naturellement, Rached Ghannouchi est bien conscient qu’il est impossible d’atteindre cet objectif dans les cinq ans, mais il est également bien conscient de là où il veut aller.
Et dans une première étape, il a émis le vœu de voir l’union du Maghreb arabe et celle des pays arabes.

Eric Frey schreibt im Standard:

Anders Behring Breivik (…) ist kein Antisemit, sondern sieht im Gegenteil Israel als Verbündeten im Kampf gegen Islam und Muslime in Europa.

Was ist jemand, aus dessen Feder solche Zeilen stammen dann?:

There is no Jewish problem in Western Europe (with the exception of the UK and France) as we only have 1 million in Western Europe, whereas 800 000 out of these 1 million live in France and the UK. The US on the other hand, with more than 6 million Jews (600% more than Europe) actually has a considerable Jewish problem.

Eigentlich, aber das ist wohl Ausdruck reinen Wunschdenkens, sollte man davon ausgehen können, dass in einem der Nachfolgestaaten des Dritten Reiches, Journalisten, die für führende Tageszeitungen schreiben, wissen müssten, dass, wer von einem Judenproblem phantasiert, das überall dort existiere, wo größere jüdische Gemeinden leben, ausgewachsener Antisemit ist und als solcher auch benannt werden sollte.

Dass nicht jeder Antisemit gleichermaßen manisch antiisraelisch sein muss, steht auf einem anderen Blatt. Breivik aber identifziert sich explizit nur mit jenen “nationalen Israelis", deren erklärtes Ziel die Deportation aller muslimischen Staatsbürger Israels nach Syrien ist. Wieviel Prozent der israelischen Rechten sind das? Fünf? Und die, nicht etwa die Merheit der Israelis, die er als Multikulturalisten und Kulturmarxisten bekämpft, betrachtet er als seine Verbündeten im Kampf für die Rettung des christlichen Abendlandes.

Die Hizbollah hat gerade einige Probleme, da wären die die Massaker ihres Patrons Assad  in Syrien, dem es bislang partout nicht gelingen will, Friedhofsruhe in seinem Land herzustellen, auf der einen Seite, die UN-Haftbefehle gegen vier hochrangige Mitglieder der Gottesstaatspartei auf der anderen zu nennen:

Hezbollah has been hurt by the stupidity of its ally, Bashar al-Assad, whom the party’s local allies are beginning to question. With Assad’s actions, and with the sword of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon at its neck, the party is standing alone, bleeding. Not a pleasant situation for a party that is still more or less in control of Lebanon and its state institutions.

Und nun muckt auch noch die Bevölkerung im Süblibanon auf, geht zwar nicht demonstrieren, dafür aber einen Saufen:

Signs of Hezbollah’s weakening have already started to emerge. This past week, in an unprecedented challenge to the Party of God by residents of the South, shops in the city of Nabatiyeh, which Hezbollah prohibited from selling alcohol four months ago, have started selling liquor again.

People in the South expect Hezbollah to react forcefully to things like this. But this time it did not, and now one can find alcohol in Nabatiyeh, a major Hezbollah hub in the South.

Instead, Hezbollah forces attacked a store in the southern town of Houla for selling alcohol and tried to force the owner to close shop in an attempt to compensate for its defeat and humiliation in Nabatiyeh. However, members of the Communist Party, normally an ally of Hezbollah, intervened to protect the owner of the shop, also an unprecedented incident in the South, at least since the early 1980s.

Diese Entwicklung muss dem iranischen Regime doch ziemlich aufstoßen, da kämpft sein engster Alliierter, das Assad Regime in Syrien um sein blutiges Überleben, die Hizbollah zeigt Zeichen von Schwäche und dann werden zeitgleich im Irak ausgerechnet auch noch die Sadristen, die bisher engsten Verbündeten Teherans, sauer und stellen die Interessen des Iraks gar vor die ihres Schutzpatrons:

The head of the Ahrar bloc urged the Iraqi government today to sever diplomatic and trade relations with Iran until the latter ceases its shelling of border territories in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Speaking to AKnews, Amir Kanani – who heads Ahrar under the umbrella of the Sadrist Current led by radical Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr – condemned the Iranian bombardments, describing them as a “violation of Iraq’s sovereignty”.

“The Iraqi government should seriously consider cutting diplomatic and trade relations with Iran, as it appears that the diplomatic measures so far taken have proved futile in settling the issue,” he said.
